Dress Code

Each class has a specific dress code to ensure student safety and to create a productive dance training environment.

Except where noted otherwise, all classes require the following:

  • Hair pulled back

  • No earrings, necklaces, or non-fabric bracelets 

  • No socks as shoes (unless specifically made for dance socks)

  • Correct dance shoe for the discipline or barefoot (no bare feet in ballet, tap, and hip hop)

  • Form-fitting dance attire, i.e., spandex shorts (at least fingertip length), non low cut sports bras, leotard with shorts, form-fitting tank or crop tops, form-fitting t-shirts, etc.

  • Other than hip hop, no baggy clothing that will inhibit an instructor’s ability to see and correct proper alignment 

The following classes have additional requirements:

Tap

  • No fake nails

  • No tights

  • No bottoms that go past the knees

  • Theatrical pink convertible nylon spandex tights - any brand

  • Leotard

  • Split-sole canvas ballet shoes
  • Hair in a bun

  • Hard sole tap shoes with toe box

Hip Hop

  • Any supportive tennis shoes that are not worn outside the studio for practice
