Competition Team

For dedicated dancers who strive to advance in the dance world, have a competitive spirit, and enjoy valuable feedback and training from experienced industry masters. Our goal is to create confident, disciplined, professional, kind, respectful dancers while fostering a supportive, fun, and growth minded environment.

What does the competition team do?

Competition Team members train year round and perform at professionally run competitions, as well as doing performances, throughout the Northwest, gaining valuable experience, confidence, leadership/teamwork skills, and strong technical foundations.

Who is eligible to audition?

Auditions are open to ages 3-20. Whether you have been dancing for 6 months or 6 years, everyone is welcome to audition for the Competition Team, regardless of experience level! We welcome all students, and place emphasis on creating an uplifting and empowering environment, while also challenging students to improve and creating award winning dances. Auditions are held in late spring and early summer. If you missed the audition window, please feel free to reach out for a private audition!

What styles are offered?

Disciplines include contemporary, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop, tap, pom, and more. These are offered as small groups, large groups, trios, duos, and solos. Placements and levels are up to teacher discretion and are determined by age, experience, and skill level.

What are the time requirements?

The Competition Team is a year long commitment, running August through June. Dancers attend weekly technique and choreography classes and participate in three required weekend long competitions, typically held once a month March-May. Students are also required to attend technique and choreography intensives at the beginning of the dance season in August. Several additional performance opportunities, competitions, and training opportunities are offered throughout the year.

What are the financial requirements?

Competition Team families should plan for monthly tuition, one time choreography fees, costume fees, and competition related expenses. A detailed cost breakdown is provided prior to committing to the team so that families can make informed decisions regarding participation.
